Born in Provence, France, Laura has always been an artist at heart. At age 17, she enrolled in painting school in Paris but soon shifted her talents toward a new canvas, leaving paint brushes for makeup brushes. She attended the prestigious Carita Beauty Institute where her innate eye for makeup artistry flourished. Laura instantly excelled in her classes and was soon elevated to makeup artist and teacher at the institute.

In the mid-1980s, Laura relocated to New York City to launch the American edition of the iconic Elle magazine. In addition to bringing American Elle to life, she created industry-defining looks for Allure, Vanity Fair, Glamour, W, InStyle and Vogue, where she was the go-to makeup artist for their high-profile covers and editorials. Her groundbreaking Flawless Face techniques effortlessly captured the natural beauty of her subjects and established her legacy for flawless artistry.

While contributing to iconic editorial spreads and devising looks for celebrities like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker, Laura struggled to find the formulas, shades and textures she wanted to work with. She began experimenting and mixing her own formulations and created the products she desired for creating her signature Flawless Face complexion.

Laura’s search to find the products she craved professionally uncovered a desire to help people everywhere—not just models and celebrities—enhance their natural beauty. In 1996, she launched her namesake brand, grounded in the belief that what makes you unique makes you beautiful.
