A great setting powder, one that doesn’t conceal but adds longevity to your makeup and blurs the appearance of imperfections, instantly elevates your makeup look.
Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder Ultra Blur does this and so much more, which is why it has a loyal cult following amongst people who want to go about their busy days confident their makeup looks as flawless as it did when it was first applied.
The formula is talc-free and infused with Hyaluronic Acid to keep skin hydrated and feeling fresh. With 16-hour staying power and silky, non-clogging texture, it’s not surprising it’s a firm favourite with makeup fans.
So, how do we make the best even better? We switch up the format for on-the-go touch ups. New Translucent Pressed Talc-Free Waterproof Setting Powder Ultra Blur is the makeup finisher you didn’t even know you needed but, once tried, you’ll never want to go without. This truly translucent powder sets makeup for 16-hours with an ultra-blurring, natural finish. Like the original, there are many benefits of translucent powder. It has been formulated with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and feels light and breathable on skin. And importantly, it doesn’t flash back in photography.
How to use translucent powder like a pro
Perfecting your makeup with either Translucent Loose Setting Powder Ultra Blur or Translucent Pressed Talc-Free Waterproof Setting Powder Ultra Blur, comes after a couple of very simple steps.
Step 1:
First prep your skin with your usual cleanser, serums, moisturiser, and SPF. Allow your skin to settle for a few moments before starting on your makeup.
Step 2:
Apply your chosen base – whether that’s a lightweight perfecting foundation like Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Waterproof Foundation or something with less coverage such as Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector SPF30.
Step 3:
Apply your skin finishers including concealer, blush, contour, bronzer, and highlight (if you’re using them).
Step 4:
Time to set. If you’re using Translucent Loose Setting Powder Ultra Blur you should saturate the Velour Puff with powder, tap off any excess, and then press and roll onto your skin where you want to set your makeup.
For Translucent Pressed Talc-Free Waterproof Setting Powder Ultra Blur and on-the-go application, the process is similar. Pick up some product with the enclosed applicator and press and roll the powder onto your skin.
How to bake with translucent powder
Many makeup artists opt to bake foundation and concealer to extend their wear. To reap the same benefits, apply a thicker dusting of Translucent Loose Setting Powder Ultra Blur than you normally would to the areas you want to bake. Typically, this is your undereye area where you have likely applied a creamy concealer, and around your jaw if you have used a cream contour. Leave the powder to set for around 10-minutes – this is a good time to move onto your eye makeup or applying a lip. After the powder has baked for 10-minutes use a fluffy brush like the Laura Mercier Powder Brush to dust away excess powder.
